What is Powerspec?

Powerspec recommends the best Adhesive and Grout for your tiling needs.

By registering for a free Powerspec Online account you will be able to do the following:-

  • Use the Product Selector to quickly find out which products are recommended for your tiling needs.
  • You can add your own prices (via the price list) for all of the products in Powerspec, allowing you to use the Calculator which will tell you how much of each product you need.
  • Quote Builder is the newest addition to Powerspec, and allows you to create a personalised Quote that you can send to your client. Your quotes will be stored on your account so you can access them again in the future.

Using the Specification Generator you can produce documents to British Standards

  1. An architect's specification
  2. A contractor's specification
  3. A method statement

These on screen documents can be copied and pasted into other documents such as a Microsoft Word file.

Creating your own quotes

I'm an existing user

To create a quote in the Quote Builder you will need to supply the additional information to your account.
When you first log in to the New Powerspec, you will be asked to confirm your saved information.
You can add your additional information at this point or you can edit your details later via the new "My Account" option.

I'm registering a new account

When you create your account you can choose to complete the fields that are only required for the Quote Builder or you can always edit your account in the future, using the "My Account" option.

The following user information is only required by the Quote Builder...

  • Company Image - Upload your company logo to display on all of your quotes.
  • VAT Registration Number - If you are VAT registered, this information will be added to each Quote.
  • Company Registration Number - If you have one, if not this can be left blank.
  • Trading As - If you trade under a name which is different to your official company name, you can insert that name too.
  • Terms & Conditions - This is a free text box that allows you to enter your own Terms & Conditions for the quote.

All of these details will be saved against your personal account and will be used every time you create a Quote.
Any of these details can be changed in the future by choosing My Account > Edit

All my details are in, how do I build a quote?

  • Quotes can be built under the tab "Quote Builder".
  • The initial screen is the Product Selector, however if you wish to add your own Price list for BAL products, then you can click the 'price list' option, and store your own prices against on any of the products in Powerspec.
  • Use the Product Selector Wizard to complete Surface, Background, Service Conditions, Tile Type, Area, Joint Width and Tile Size. Clicking the 'Pick best products' will return the options available for your job.
  • Once happy with your selection, pick the 'Calculator'.
  • In the Calculator you can input the tile dimensions and any Adjustment factor, then click 'Calculate Now'.
  • The calculator will work out how much of each product you require to complete the job, if you have saved your own prices it will calculate the total materials cost too. If you haven't saved any prices then a default price will be used instead.
  • You can now either add a "new location" or proceed to "build quote".
  • You can add as many locations as are required for your quote. e.g. Bathroom Floor, Bathroom Wall etc.
  • The calculator page has a 'build quote' which passes the material cost through to a Quote Editor page.
  • Using the 'Add item' box, you can specify any additional items to your quote.
    e.g.
    Title - Supply of Bathroom Suite
    Description - Supply of clients chosen bathroom suite
    Cost - £900
  • You can continue to add and remove items from your quote until you are happy with the result.
  • Tick the 'Calculate VAT' box to automatically add VAT to the quote.
  • To complete the quote, simply give it a title (so you can find it again in the future) and click 'Save as quote'.
  • The Quote will be converted to an Adobe Acrobat .pdf file and saved against your account My Account > View Quotes.
  • To print a final copy of your quote simply click the view icon next to the selected Quote, and choose Print from the Acrobat menu, you can also download the file to save it locally to your computer.
